You ask, we answer!
Q: What the difference between G2, G4 and FR?
A: G2 is about 10% slicker and the G4 is about 10% more abrasion resistant! I recommend G2 for most mud and outboard boats, and G4 for airboats that run a lot of sawgrass. (I run the G2 on my airboat, mud boat and bay boat.) The FR is our Fresh water fouling release for boats that stay in the fresh water year round or extended periods on time. If you trailer the boat stay with the G2 or G4.
Q: WHAT DOES IT STICK TO?
A: Just about everything! Fiberglass, steel, aluminum, plastic, vinyl, wood, and concrete (not good for floors; do not walk on GatorGlide products). I tried UHMW myself; it will not stick long. Any oily substrate is not a good place to try to get anything to stick to. If someone says they have something that will stick to UHMW, polyethene or like kind, be very careful! They may have a bridge to sell.
GatorGlide is on dump truck beds, game feeders, lawn mower decks, undercarriages of heavy equipment, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, Snow removal equipment, factory assembly table where adhesive is used, irrigation, water treatment plants, snowboards, wakeboards, paddleboards, and just about every kind of boat you can think of. It is on thousands of saltwater boats. (The fouling release is NOT meant for boats that stay in the saltwater year-round).
I’m sure I left off lots of things. GatorGlide customers are smart and innovative, let me know what you come up with.
Q: Do I have to use the GatorBase AKA GB?
A: No, but it makes for a much better bottom and is a really good idea. The GatorBase is a super tough and slick coat itself. Many Fiberglass shops use it rather than gelcoat for repaint of boat bottoms. It sticks better in a aftermarket cold joint, it’s tougher and slick as a peeled onion. It will lose some slickness when it abrades, that where the GG comes in, Its designed to abrade. That's what keeps GG slick. We do them in two colors so you can see your wear layers and know when to touch up. Meanwhile you still have protection and a slick bottom.
Q. How long will the GatorGlide Last?
A: depends on how you run! If you run a lot of sand, you will be touching up more often. I have guys who touch up every 10 years and guys every year. (I have touched up my 2014 mud boat twice) It has a 0ne year self-life.
Q: If I want to do it over what's entailed?
A: You never do it over, you just touch up!
Q: Will I gain speed?
A: YES! You may not gain top speed if you are overpowered, but you will at lower RPM’s or cruising speed. (examples) My bass boat guys have 300 HP on a light boat gain no top speed as there is no boat left in the water. But they get extended trolling motor life per charge because that’s when they are displacing water. Pontoons and underpowered boats make top speed gains as well as cruising speed gains.
Q: How long does it take to ship?
A: We typically have it on the dock for pickup in 3 days. FedEx states between 1 and five days for ground. Most folks get theirs in a week, some less, some more. 2DAY shipping does not move over the weekend so you might get it a day earlier but it is expensive. Its really there for the northern states to use in the winter so its only in transit for two days and does not freeze. Best to ship ground in the summer.
Q. How long should I wait before I put the boat back on the trailer ?
A. You can set it on the trailer the next day, BUT you cannot crank it onto the trailer or trailer it for 72hrs
Q: How often do I have to re-apply GG?
A: Never! It’s still America you don’t have to re-apply. But it’s a good idea to touch up now and then. If you wore it down or scratched it up just lightly scuff the area, wipe with acetone, and touch it up! Simple as that!

During the winter months we highly recommend using 2day shipping if you do not want frozen no good product. If you choose ground shipping, we may hold on to the order until we think its safe to send. However if it gets hung up during ground shipping the onus is on you.
